Marine
Ply : The physical and mechanical
properties confirm to IS 710:76. Made out of single species of
imported hardwood it is ideally suited to various sea going and
inland vessels. It can withstand climatic variations, high humidity.
It is bonded with Phenol formaldehyde synthetic resin (confirms
to IS 848:1974) and also preservative treated by vaccum impregnation
as per IS 5539:69 , thus making it safe from marine organisms,
borer insects, fungi, termite attack etc. Ideal applications for
this ply would be for ship flooring/decking, material handling
vehicles, cargo hold covers, wall sheathing, life boats, yatch,
paneling, partitions etc.

Shuttering
Plywood (Plain & Film Faced): For superior concrete
finishes, manufactured in compliance with IS 4990:81 when compared
to steel shuttering plates or other panel materials, our plywood
stands most cost effective. It is manufactured with selected,
naturally crossband veneers impregnated with specially formulated
phenolic resin. It is ideally suited for concrete formwork for
beams, columns, flooring and slab form work, vertical or inclined
concrete work, truck and tempo body work, mezzanine floors etc.
If
handled and stored carefully the product could be re used upto
10 – 15 times on either side. These sheets can also be manufactured
with face veneer on either side topped with phenolic resin impregnated
film thus giving it a smooth mirror like finish and enhancing
the properties like strength, stability & resistance.

DENSIFIED
SHUTTERING PLYWOOD ( PLAIN & FILM FACE ): Shuttering
plywood capable of a high level of performance for all types of
varied uses in the construction industry for buildings , bridges
, tunnels, heavy industries , power plants , defence structures,
etc. For use on walls, beams, slabs , columns etc. It has nearly
40 % more layers of very thin veneers impregnated with special
unextended phenol formaldehyde resins which enhances the mechanical
properties of the product. The film face on both sides offers
high resistance to abrasion, water absorption, high resistance
to varying high temperatures and thus enhancing the product life
by about 4 times the ordinary shuttering ply. Some of the advantages
of this product are as follows :
1. |
Reduces
manpower & labour cost on account of more no. of uses. |
2. |
Ideal
formwork material for pre-cast , concrete moulds. |
3. |
Improves
economy and speed in construction. |
4. |
Saves
on supporting material such as poles, scaffolding, doka support
formwork etc. & labour for fixing them. |
5. |
Compared
to steel plates its cheaper thus save on the initial investment. |
6. |
Saves
on re-plastering work & finishing cost as it is free from
dents and imparts evenly smooth finish. |

COMPRESSED
WOOD LAMINATES / COMPREG BOARDS : Resin
Impregnated/ Treated Compressed Wood Laminates or Densified Wood
Laminates or COMPREG is a technical marvel with enhanced mechanical
properties with the stabilising and moisture proof qualities of
thermosetting resins besides having good machining properties,
resistance to corrosive agent and termite attack. Manufactured
in fully automatic hydraulic press under multi stage pressing,
its unique of its kind in India.
Impregnated/treated with unextended phenol formaldehyde resin
confirming to IS: 848/1974, every sheet confirms to IS 3513 (
Part I,II,III )/ 89 and RDSO standards C 9407. These boards hold
properties normally associated with metallic alloys and not with
timber based products. With its resin treated surface it offers
high resistance to abrasion, water absorption, high resistance
to spread of flames and are sound proof upto 34 decibels.
Specialised
applications of Densified Wood Laminates could be summarised under
the following heads:
·
Pattern shops and foundaries for precision patterns and dies
· Jigs and fixtures
· Stamping and forming of sheet metals
· Tooling for aircraft industry.
· Defence and security related applications.
· Buses, trucks, rail coaches, tramways etc.
· Construction industry.
· Sports and gymnasium.
· Road sign boards for highways as well as for commercial
enterprises.
· Panelling, table tops, partitions, doors, etc.
These boards can be produced with Film for Densified Shuttering
purpose, Aluminium Claded on single or both sides, Chequered form,
Decorative Faces. These boards are manufactured in three different
grades namely Electrical grade, Chemical Grade & General grade.
COMPREG
SLATS is also one of the value added product manufactured
here at COMPOSITE. COMPREG SLATS is a uniform homogeneous material
free from surface defects, checks, splits discoloration, blisters,
overlaps, gaps etc.
The
boards are cost effective as compared to aluminum sheets and delivers
more in terms of enhanced properties.

NATURAL
FIBRE THERMOSET COMPSITES (NFTC) : As the name suggest
NFTC is made from natural fibres such as Jute, Hessian Cloth,
Coir etc. These felts are impregnated/treated with unextended
phenol formaldehyde resin and are pressed in a fully automatic,
multi stage hydraulic press.
This product due to its higher density ( 1.6 gm/cc ) offers very
high resistance to abrasion, spread of flame, water absorption
etc besides giving acoustical resistance upto 30 decibels. They
are bio friendly and an apt substitute for high density wood laminates,
which finds use in platforms, flooring, paneling, switchboards,
partitions etc. The natural fibre composites can be very cost-effective
material especially for building & construction industry (panels,
false ceilings, partition boards etc.), packaging, automobile
& railway coach interiors and storage devices.
